Folding is my main objective with all this hardware I have here. The Asus ENGTX460 looks to be my next move up in the world of points per day. Not only will it increase my output but it is getting great reviews for engineering design. Some of the things I am most interested in is power consumption and heat. I go to great lengths to cool these machines as we all know the cooler the better. Asus got great reviews for the cooler they designed for these cards and I look forward to working with them. Also the 460 is very cost efficient in the power consumption realm. I plan on installing two of these cards in my present machine.
I plan on testing these boards while running my folding program. As you may or may not know the folding program goes to great lengths to insure that no inaccurate data is returned. It checks and rechecks its results and if it finds any problems it will exit with an error message. I feel this is a great way to test these cards for overclocking. Most reviewers merely run some of the gaming benchmark programs and look for distortion, called artifacts, in the screens. Well just because you don't see anything wrong doesn't mean all the data coming out of the card is correct. Thats where the folding program will come in. I will run it at full load and see how far I can turn these cards up.
Stay tuned!
